Help finding bar street

I know someone will know what I'm banging on about here!

4 trips to Patong ago me and mate wandered onto a street lined with little small, individual covered, round, stand alone bars with tvs, most with a log next to it where you play the hammer games... They were pretty awesome for a late arvo relaxer and would like to hit them up in Feb when I'm there next.

Now the problem is I was absolutely hammered at the time and the past 3 trips have tried to find them but with no luck. I'm pretty sure they exist haha

Anyone know what I'm talking about and where they are?

I had a similar experience with what I believe to be the OTOP area. Stumbled across it during my first trip to Patong, then forgot how to get back. But it sounds the same as I remember - small round covered stand alone bars open in the afternoon. I think what kept me from finding it during the last two trips were the crowded vendor stalls at the entrance to the area. I didn't feel like running past all the shirt and trinket hawkers.

Walking Street is much easier to find. I used it as a short cut coming from Royal Pawadee to get from Beach St. to the back end of Soi Seadragon. No bars there, at least back in April, just a few vendors and store front shops.

Oh, I stand corrected, then. Sounds like there's another place to check out. How far south on the beach is the area you're thinking of?

There happens to be a sign that says "Shortcut to Walking Street" for the place I was talking about. But it seems to be a new thing.

Where the sunset plaza bars are, dolphin bar etc, up the side road.

It could be the small soi that runs parallel to Sai Namyen, where Patong Gym is located. I've never been there at night, so I have no idea of the talent.

Yep, that's the one, had a big arch proclaiming "Walking Street", but was as dead as a Dodo last time I was there about a year or more ago.

I was there is September last year and a couple towards the front were open, but not a lot else.

Bars in there went OK for about 6 months but then it seemed to die....I think the landlord did some strange things IIRC....one of our BMs had a bar in their with a mate...maybe he can shed some light on what happened

Thanks heaps fellas, I have a feeling its the OTOP area but I reckon I'll check out the Walking Street as well. Hell why not?!?! Haha




I should get one of those cameras that strap to my head so I can remember what happened the night before! Would help fill in a lot of gaps in my past...
