Help Please - Refexology to Induce Labour

I see there has been a similar post recently which didnt get any replies but here's hoping.

I have just had a call from a lady 41 weeks pregnant and due to be induced next week. She wanted Reflexology in the hope of bringing on labour naturally.

Has anybody got any experience in this area and tips they could share? I am thinking lots of repo area and pituatry. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Hi Jackie,

There are certain movements you can do which I learnt in a recent workshop on 'Reflexology for Pregnancy, Pre-conceptual and Post Natal Care'.

You certainly want to spend at least 10 minutes very hard on on the pitutary gland to stimulat the hormone oxytocin which stimulates uterine contractions. Also work hard on the uterus. We learnt a type of 'wiping down' with the knuckles over this area - it flippin hurts if you're not pregnant!

Also work on the hip, lower back (lumbar 3 for nerves linking to reproductive organs) and thyroid.

Also, for post treatment (I vouch for the 'stimulate uterus' bit), recommend chilli for tea!! (Well, it worked for me, and I was 9 days late!)

Hi
to induce pregnant women I treat
1. the hypothalmus (middle of big toe)
2. Pituitary
3. Large intestine
4. hip and pelvis ankle boogie
5. Baldder 61 ( small toenail pinch)
6. Outside of the leg just below the maleolus bladder 61
all these need strong hard pressure
usually works after a few sessions
BUT MUST NOT BE USED ON ANY PREGNANT WOMEN THAT IS NOT AT TERM 40 WEEKS.

Thanks to everybody who replied. As it turned out the lady cancelled, saying she felt unwell and I've not heard since, so presumably labour started of it's own accord - which is how it should be I suppose !!

I will keep a note of all your good advice for future use.
