HELP....Wegeners Granulomatosis

Hi there

Bit of a long shot but has anyone ever come across Wegeners Granulomatisis before?? It is a rare form of vasculitis.
My managers husband has been diagnosed with this condition and is in very poor health. Because it seems rare the doctors know very little about it or how to treat it. He is on cyclophosphamide for the disease and various steroids and such for pain relief due to the sensitivity of the his skin!

Has anyone any ideas on alternative therapies or medicines that we could try to help with this or has anyone treated anyone that is also suffering from this disease??

I have never heard of this ailment. I just did a web search and found quite a thorough fact sheet on a US site: http://www.niaid.nih.gov/factsheets/wegeners.htm

There are some very experienced therapists on here so I hope someone can help you further with thoughts on therapies. It might be good to sound out the docs to make sure they would agree to comp therapies.

I have asked my boss to check whether or not her husband can receive any form of comp therapy and fingers crossed someone here can help!

its a complicated one.....personally i would treat using a mixture of therapies but would definitely need a doctors ok. you may find there are many therapists who will not touch this due to lack of knowledge and fear of being sued (unfortunately a sign of the times we live in.)

Sorry to hear about your manager's husband. I have only heard of this as I was given a nasal biopsy to test for this the year before last as it was found that I have a perforated septum. Fortunately, the test was negative.

Other than reiki, I cannot think of anything specific, but probably would need to check with the doctors first.
