Help with wording...

I want to send my clients a birthday card during their month of birth, and I want to give them basically a half price massage. How do people word it so it's obviously a GIFT and not so much a sales pitch? I mean, it is a sales pitch type thing, but first and foremost it's a client appreciation thing and want it to be perceived that way! "Oh, that's sweet," instead of just "Hey look a half-price coupon." Ideas for the wording? On the card, or on a gift certificate?
Also, do you think it's too late to send out March birthday cards now that the month is almost done? (Yeah, oops, forgot that I have a lot of March-born clients...)

How about using something like: "My gift to you"? I've seen well done cards of this sort before, but I'm kind of drawing a blank.

For the March Birthday people, you could just put an expiration date on there a month from when you send them: "Good March 15th-April 15th". Or just have the card be good through April if you don't have a problem with them having more than a month to redeem it.

You could save poseforum.xxxe by putting your birthday wish and gift info on a postcard and just mailing that.

I would give them 2 months to redeem it but that is me.
As far as it being to late for Match as long as you send it before the end of the month I wouldn't see anything wrong with it. As a client I would still be happy... I love getting b-day cards late or not.
As far as wording goes I like the "My gift to you" as well. Its short and sweet and doesn't seem like you are promoting yourself.

I do not do birthday cards, I keep thinking I'll just send birthday cards to say happy birthday and not necessarily give a special deal...but I might reconsider. When a weekly 1.5 hr client came in the other day and mentioned it was her birthday I decided to give her the 1.5 hr for the price of the hour. I didn't say anything until she had her check book out, then I said, "It's $__ today, J.....that last half hour was on me." And I like that wording because then it really sounds like I am picking up the tab...and I am by not being paid for it.

I used to send client birthday cards so that they arrived on or just before the month of their birthday. It was good for a free half hour session and expired at the end of the month. Somehow this seemingly great idea caused a lot of confusion and people would often forget them until they expired and want to extend the redemption date or think they would get a free one hour session, even though I'd remind them when they booked.

Now I send birthday cards so they arrive about three days prior prior and simply wish a happy birthday. For regular clients also I give a little gift that ties in with their interests. Any client who has a session within a day of their actual birth date will have fresh-baked cookies or a little cupcake waiting. The excited look on their faces just tickles me. t050
