I have a back problem for years,I did it picking up a wooden PE bench in school while twisting at the same time ! just one of those things I had probably done many times but that one time it got me. On and off over the years its kind of come and gone although to say gone is a bit ambitious its really always there. Now the thing is I can normally tell when Im in trouble as I get tight around the area, its lower lumbar region, and consequently back off for a few days while things settle down, that hasnt happend this time. I have a feeling my problem is not as severe as some of the people on this forum as my pain this time is localised at the point of damage and unlike when I first did this Im getting no pain or discomfort down the leg or anywhere else,an odd twinge across the hip but really nothing. However I cant work as my work is manual, when I sit it takes a few strides to get straightend up and bending isnt really happening. Normally Im very active,I compete in Ironman triathlons and the training for these events takes usually2/3 hours a day double that on a weekend Im 45 year old male and with the exeption of the back Im in good shape really ! Can anyone help or advice,Ive been to the Doc, you all know the result of those visits from what i read. For information when i first did this about six years ago it was diagnosed as a bulging disc Sorry the exacy terminology escapes me as I cannot recall if he said Prolapsed or herniated, just remember him saying the disc was bulging and making pressure on the nerve, seemed really clear at the time !.
Thank you.
