What does this works good for me mean?
I am curious because my experience is when I go to new place, the first visit they always always want to overcharge me on standard menu options.
If I were to play it nice and tip on top of the overcharge I am Santa Claus. On repeat visits they have you over a barrel if you started overpaying on the first visit.
My best approach so far has been to pay min. door and take no extras basic service. Decline their 1st menu offer pricings, and let them start the session.
Then once they realize the session has started, they usually ask what I am interested in, and I have to pitch the standard menu & prices back to them and so we can agree on an extra.
This is such BS, but that's how the dance works. This starts you off at the right price point, so that tips will can be earned and not standard expectation.
Personally I found tipping in advance is not a smart move. Most MPAs that ask for the money upfront, service is poorer. Probably because of either two reasons, i) they enjoy the cash more than the service, or ii) they don't trust you. If its a matter of trust that you can fix, but if they are cash centric that means they will never be your best session. So tip after you have the great performance. If you do it the other way, you may be dissapointed.
