HFH Appointment difficulty

I know it might just be me....but i seems damned near impossible to get an appointment with the girls at HFH.

My schedule sees me travelling around the city on appointments. So I have to work time for an MP in between others.

Yesterday I made an appointment to see Tarah at HFH.
I was 7 minutes late due to the 'morons' in Toronto who forget how to drive when a little rain starts to fall. NOt bad given that I was coming from downtown, I guess.

I rushed to get there only to be told that she took another customer. I was 7 minutes late!!! No offer of another girl. And no re-book, as I was told she was booked full the rest of the day.

I usually would even call to say I'll be late, but I was on the phone.
The previous time I actually DID call to say I'd be few mins late , and the girl took another appt anyway!

I know business is business, but this is downright frustrating!

I have given up all hope of ever getting to see Cameron after trying many times over the past year or so.

Its a shame, because when I have had the few sessions at HFH, they were great sessions!

Yeah, that's happened to me many times at HFH. Even when I call ahead, the girl takes some guy sitting there instead. I think part of it is just that they just come out to the lobby and ask "are you ___?" and the guy just answers yes and that's it.

Hard to have discretion with valour these days, whether it's the better part or not.

My advice: double-book, with a nearby backup. It's either that or go into the restaurant next door and whack off in the men's room.

Happened to me one night at IT...about a year and a half ago. I called ahead and said I'd be there in a half hour.

When I got there the girl at the desk said that the one I'd booked was busy and so was everyone else, but I could wait half an hour and it would be 'worth my while'.

I decided to sit and wait and while I was, LE walked in. Needless to say I walked right out.

Looking back, I'm pretty happy that I lost my booking

i've never booked an appointment at hfh or anywhere for that matter. i've also never taken someones resrvation. they ask if i have an appointment to which i reply no and ask who is available. i've been able to see tarah ivana selena and isabella. there's alway someone available. i've never left without a session.

would be perfect, but nobody seems to want to use this approach.

It would work much better for me as a paying customer. I guess it's too much work for the spa or they get to many whack jobs contacting them by email.

I rarely even receive responses from spas to my email inquiries. If I hear back frm them at all, it's two weeks later and all they say is to use the phone. I think the telephone is overrated.

You'd think some wise spa owner would spot this as an opportunity to gain a distinct advantage. Then again, as we all know, there are too few smart MP operators around.

I wish that there was a way that I can make the appointment process easier for everyone around.. but here is the side of it that some of you may not see...

One day.. Cameron was booked solid. 7 appointments. Out of 7 appointments, 4 of them didn't show.. didn't call to cancel.. and she sat in the back.. and all the guys that called earlier for an appointment with her got turned away. How we solved this problem is that we will tell clients wishing to get a chance to see her, to call back and see if she has any cancelations.. but even then.. it doesn't work out well.

If a guy has an appointment at 3:00pm for 30 minutes, we schedule the next appointment at 3:45pm; that is the way the sheets are constructed. That gives the girl 15 minutes to play with.. typically.. she won't get into the room for 5 minutes on a 3pm appointment anyways. Then she gets time afterwards to wash up.. eat.. drink.. take a break before her next appointment. Say that the client for 3pm doesn't arrive until 3:10. By the time he is out of the shower it is 3:15pm. By the time his half hour appointment is over.. it is 3:45pm and that is if she gets out right on time which is rare. Well her 3:45pm appointment is sitting on the couch waiting for her previous appointment to leave. By the time the first guy leaves and the room is cleaned, the 3:45pm appointment isn't in the room and ready to go until 3:55pm... and then the next appointment is late and so on. The guy that is sitting on the couch at the end of the shift waiting.. is saying to me, 'kayla, how much longer is she going to be? I made this appointment a week ago.. I have other committments.' What do I say? So do we take a client that walked in ten minutes late, throw all the rest of the appointments behind and have them rightfully upset? Not anymore and I wish that it was different. I tell the girls if the client is not at the door within 5 minutes of his appointment, take the next client. It's unfortunate and a tight schedule, but necessary to be fair to all.

We tell clients to call ahead if they are going to be running late.. but does that help? Only if the girl they have their appointment with doesn't have an appointment booked right after them. Then we will push his appointment ahead to give him the proper space.. but for a girl that is booked solid.. there is little that we can do for him unless there is someone else that he is willing to see.

I was in the office the day that Bone came.. I remember you And what he is saying is the truth.. he was only 7 minutes late.. but Tarah had already taken the walk in. What will happen is a guy will come to HFH and ask to see her.. we will tell him.. she is booked.. if the client asks if he could sit and wait to see if by chance her next appointment cancels or doesn't show.. can he? We say sure. He waits. When Bone wasn't there by 5 minutes after the appointment, the guy waiting was taken. By the time that Bone walked in, she was already beginning her client. If however, the client in the room has not showered yet and Bone happened to walk in at that time, the girl will tell the client that her client has arrived, appologize to him and offer another girl. But this is rare.. usually the client is already showered and ready for the session and at this point, I won't ask them to leave. Bone is right.. he should have been offered someone else instead.. and I give you my sincere appologies that it wasn't handled properly.

Yes believe it or not, we have had guys walk in here.. glance at the appointment sheet and rattle off a name that they see written there to get in. One man did that.. when the real client showed up that was booked.. I walked into the room of the client who had lied while he was laying buck ass naked on the bed and asked him to leave. He just chuckled and left. I didn't find it funny at all.

As far as the emails for booking appointments.. I generally don't do that and that cannot change. The reason being is .. I am not here for the entire shift every day. So.. when I leave work, I don't always go directly home and sit on my computer. So you can email me asking for an appointment and I won't get the email until the next day. If I happen to be at HFH when you send the email and I am on my pc.. I will try to work an appointment for you.. but I will always prefer that you call for the appointment. Other managers here do not have access to my computer or the emails .. so they cannot book your appointment either. I will answer emails regarding anything else for HFH - sometimes guys send emails to me to give to the girls thanking them.. and sometimes guys email me to let me know their suggestions, comments or questions.. and I truly appreciate that.. but for booking appointments.. the phone is the best way yet to assure that you have the appointment booked.

I would like to hear your feedback on this or if you disagree with the system and have a better approach.

I couldn't agree with you more. After all, these girls are there to earn money. When a client is late, it ends up costing them money.

I know I hate it when people are late for meetings/appointments. It can throw my schedule off completely.

Also, with regards to traffic, generally I add that factor into my travel time (but every once in a while shit happens).

The system you have works and I've had to explain it to many an individual who whines about being a few minutes late. I try, whenever I know I'm going to be late is to call as early as I can to say I'm on my way, running 5 or 10 minutes late and it has never been a problem for me, even at your spa.

Another part of the problem is....you have ladies working with you that are extremely popular and I also know you have no shows fairly often which doesnt help matters either.

All that can be done is to remind the caller when the appt is booked that if they are going to be late, no matter how late, they must phone in to confirm.

Bone, I hear ye brother and there is not much that can be done....double booking is not something I suggest. Getting a reputation at the spa helps. By that I mean the ladies know who you are (no not the massageplanet.net handle but as a regular) and that you always call to confirm. This always works in your favour as it has in mine with the places I frequently book appts at. Heck, I've shown up at IT a few times with no appt and boom, got my favourite lass because of a no show. Cameron would do the same thing with anyone that is waiting.

Is there any chance you will be expanding your hours of operation? I have tried to make it to your spa serveral times, but find the 10 to 10 hours very dififcult to work with. As I am at work until usually 6pm, and almost always the 6 to 10pm slots are booked already.

Perhaps you could stay open until midnight, or 1am ?? Like most of the other spas are doing? Especally with the weather getting warmer, I would assume business will pick up, and getting to see someone before 10pm will be even more difficult then it is now.

The hours is not my choice unfortunately. According to the bylaw.. I am allowed to open from 9AM - 10PM daily and 9AM - 6PM Sat and 9AM - 5PM Sun. If I am open any longer than those hours, they can ticket me. If there are any spa's here in Vaughan open outside of those hours they are not licensed.

Honestly though.. if I was allowed to stay open later.. the latest I would stay open would be until 11PM.

I understand that both clients and MPAs have busy schedule. If I call today and book an appointment with a popular MPA, chances are that I will be told she would be available for an appointment in 2 days, 3 days or even a week later. At this point, how many guys actually said, yeah sure and put me down whether she will be next available. Would the client actually wait for this appointment or would he have the urge to see another MPA instead. I would only go for an appt in 3 days the most.

Many people have hectic schedule, why not set a reminder on your cell phone, Icq or MS Outlook? And when the date comes, give the spa a call in the morning or just 2 hrs before your appt to confirm that you will be there. This way, you have confirmed your appt and you know your MPA is available this date. There was a time that the spa told me to come later; I guess the MPA is running behind her schedule. So I continued at work and I arrived hours later than my previous scheduled time. I didn't have to wait 1 min and the spa gave me a discount, too. Believe me it is a lot better than arriving on time or a few minutes late and found out your appt is not available. I found this way work the best. Last year, I didn't confirm my airline ticket with my airline and I was stranded in the airport for over 6 hrs.

Hair appointment ... ? Never had one of those, but I always make an appointment when going to HFH. Always leave early enough to compensate for traffic problems and always arrive early. Sometimes, if the girl isn't busy I'll get taken in early.

Kayla, I had the good fortunate of seeing Cameron today and she told me exactly the same story that one day she had 3 to 4 no shows, poor girl, for the life of me, I could not understand why somebody would do that? especially with Cameron, next time when that happens, would you be kind enough to call me and I will be there in a split second.

Now is that something wrong with this picture? A guy books an appointment and decides not to show up, especially to see an MPA at HFH (Kayla, I am not trying to patronize you, but I think in some States, you would be in violation of anti-trust laws given your monopolistic status in GTA with your current starting roster), would you do the same to your dentist? I usually come in around after 5pm, after work, and in the event that my boss wants me to stay late, I make up all kinds of shit (dental appointment, soccer practice, funerals, etc) to get out of work so I don't miss it. Could someone please explain the psychology behind "no-shows"?

BTW, Cameron mentioned to me that she does not read the board, Kayla, could you please let her know that I had a wonderful time with her today (and yes, the guy ahead of me was late due to some appointment screwups, most likely due to what you had explained).

One more silly question, Kayla, how on earth do you accumulate such an all-star lineup?

I've learned my lesson about booking appointments at HFH. Book early! That's all there is to it. Yes, those of you who like to be more spontaneous with your MP sessions, may have trouble with this. Don't get me wrong, I'm spontaneous at times as well, but with HFH, IT, Silhouette and Allure, call ahead and book early.

With HFH, I'll book as soon the schedule goes up which is sometimes up to 2 weeks ahead of time. For the other fine MPs, sometimes I'll book a day before or first thing in the morning.

Doing this has lowered my frustration level since now I usually see the attendants I want to see without any problems.

As usual, I commend Kayla for chiming in as well and giving us the view from her business perspective. I fully understand the need to bring in the revenue wherever possible, especially with such a high % of no-shows (which blows me away!).

Maybe I'm just one of those guys who's business schedule is too volatile at times to book in some instances.
More likely, I think its just that HFH is too far removed from where I do most of my business. Add to it that if there is an unusually moronic set of drivers in bad weather, I might as well park on the shoulder and walk to my next appointment!

Alas, all this does not help one's chance of seeing Cameron or Tarah, and they continue to 'wow' judging by their pics and the posts.
