new client --- hiccups for 4 years ---- sometimes only one or two hicks in a day ...... explosive sounds which made one observer during a car ride to look around to see where the car crash was-- (reminds me of Tourettes syndrome).....hmmmm...her breathing is incorrect.... contracting the abs during inhalation, so I spent much of the first session coaching diaphragmatic breathing, and checking for tightness in the serratus muscles and diaphragm. Gave her homework with counting on inhalation and exhalation.... slower and longer exhalation. Checked Travell ---- some techniques mentioned regarding releases for diaphragm which I will use next session, and teach the client to do on herself. Am wondering and will ask if Tourettes has been ruled out. Any input? Has tried accupuncture, chiropractic, etc.Linda in NC
