How difficult is it getting a taxi outside HLH at night?

They have a guy who sits outside the front door all night, he will get you a taxi at night, I usually tip him a 100 or 200 ($0.20-0.40) colone coin

No Problem at all getting taxi at any hour from HLH. Sportman's can be a little more difficult.

If they aren't familiar with HLH I always tell taxi drivers
2 calles norte y un calle oeste de Holiday Inn Morazon.
That always works.

This might be a bit confusing for the taxi drivers. Calle's run north and south. Avenues run east and west. Tell the driver North two avenida's

No Problem at all getting taxi at any hour from HLH. Sportman's can be a little more difficult.

Never have a problem at Sportsman's...however, I don't use the guys in front, I walk down to Av. 9 & flag one down.

Hotel Little Havana is located in downtown San Jose in historic Barrio Amon. if you are taking a taxi from the airport. just tell them;

Hotel Little Havana en Barrio Amon San Jose. A Frente INVU ( which means in front of INVU which is a goverment building) if they get lost just have them call us 2257-8624

seems much easier to me to say "a frente INVU"

Taxi drivers in Sj are famous for NOT knowing where things are in SJ.

For HLH, I've used "INVU" and also "INS" for landmarks, sometimes with no luck in spite of further details about how far from the landmarks.

Be prepared to offer the HLH phone number. All of the taxi guys have cell phones.
