holiday business boosting and gift certificate sales

Hi all,

I had a meeting with the local daily newspaper ad rep.

She brought over their upcoming specials and special publications.

They have two specials I am interested in. One is their Holiday Business Booster. I can get a 4" column ad 3x a week for 6 weeks at $108 a week. I can change the ad every week if I like, and have from Sept 1 06 to Jan 21 07 to run the ad. I figure I can gear it towards gift certs for 3 weeks in December and a new client special in January for the other 3 weeks.

The other I am interested in is the Front Page Countdown. It starts Thanksgiving Day and runs until Christmas Eve. I would advertise shopping at home by purchasing gift certificates online. This ad is 1.5" by 3" and costs $85 each run. I am concidering running this ad twice.

The daily paper runs about 15,000 copies. Perhaps your local paper would have similar ad rates. Could be worth a call.

That's something that I'm looking for...it sounds like a pretty good rate. Have you advertised with that paper before? If so, what was your response like?

I have never advertised with this particular paper. This particular company owns the weekly paper I have advertised with in the past with great success. I plan on running similar ads as I have in the past in the weekly, but in the daily.

Repitition is key when it comes to the daily paper.
