How Can I Introduce a Kitten to a Cat?

I tried introducing a new kitten to my cat and my cat started hissing and attacking the kitten and myself. I had to lock the cat in the basement to cool down. How can I introduce them without the cat killing the kitten? The kitten is a month old and the cat is almost 5 years old

Always shake with right hands, nametag on right side of chest. Do it at a formal dinner, or group activity they can both relate to.

My cats don't like any other cats either. You need to keep showing them to each other. When they start to get better, give your kitten and cat a treat. Sooner or later, they'll get used to each other. Buy a harness and leash for both of them to do this.

(when you get the harness and leash, choose the cat you want to hang on to, and ask a friend to hold the other one. Do this everyday 10 mins and don't let them meet without the harnesses and leashes)
