How do I introduce an elf to modern society without too much shock to her?
A little over a month ago, I was hiking in a low woodland area, when I was discovered by a girl with silver hair, pointed ears and pale skin wearing a dark cloak, brandishing a silver dagger. She said that her name was Vanya, and told me that she had escaped an orc prison camp, and that she needed to run away. I took her back to my home, and she has been living there for the last month. She is a beautiful, intelligent, and very curious person. She has lived in isolation her entire life, but she is very intuitive, and is eager to learn more about the world. Eventually I am going to have to bring her into society if she is going to survive in this world, however well she can survive in the woodlands.
Despite her limited magical abilities and strength of will, she is still very delicate, and I don't want her to be to overwhelmed by today's society. I have grown to care very much about her. Can you suggest anything I can do to lessen the psychological impact it will have on her?
