How can I re-introduce my glasses?

I first got glasses when I was 9 (I'm 14 now) and being the shyest person in the world, I never wore them. In the summer before i started secondary school, my parents decided to let me have contact lenses. They were fine to start with but I am experiencing discomfort with them now, how can I start wearing my glasses? I've needed them for 5 years and never worn them, none of my friends know I need them, and i don't even think my brother does. My prescription is also approaching -5 in both eyes.
