How do I convince my girlfriend that I want to introduce a strap on to our sex life?

My girlfriend is a very man-repulsed lesbian.

So, it worries me to just plain out ask her about it, because i'm terrified that she's going to do what she always does when I try to being something like this up...
She assumes I want to be with a man, instead of her.
Which, I guaruntee is /not/ the case.


She's told me before that she used one on one of her former girlfriends, and disliked it...
But then explained that she didn't get any sort of pleasure form it at all (like, she didn't give it a chance) because she had lost interest in her girlfriend at the time anyways.

I just want to try it.
Just of rthe experience, and if we both like it, than that's one more thing we can add to our intimate time together, which is always excited.

She told me that when she used a strap on on her ex, they borrowed it from a friend.
They used a condom on it and everything else, but I think that's really strange..
Does that happen often, though? Just not to my knowledge?

i don't know what to tell you except that people use condoms and share them usually. if you use condoms you don't have to clean them. edit: i find it hilarious that the answer below me talked about your gf making a sacrifice it's the best thing ever if anything it's the person who it's not used on is missing out.
