How do I introduce a five month old kitten to an eight month old kitten? the 8mth

old has been with us for 2mt? i just brought the 5Month old home today. my 8th old kitten is acting kind of weird. he doesn't know what to do but follows her around. he hissed once and they bashed heads once. but she tries to play with him and he runs. normal? they've been "talking" to each other for a while though. Is that good? he watches her while she looks around. any advise would help. Ive never had to do this. Im a first time cat owner as well.

I would put the new kitten in a room that in not "owned" but the older kitten and then just let them meet themselvs and be friends ;-)

If you just put them in a room together, they should be fine. They're still young so they shouldn't attack each other or anything. One of the cats may try to establish dominance by chasing or growling at the other cat, but this is normal. We have two cats now. Cuddles is Cielo's daughter, but she always chases Cielo around. When she gets cornered, Cielo just crouched down and Cuddles will walk away. This might happen to your cats, but don't worry about it. They will never actually hurt each other. If you want, you can put one cat on one side of a glass door and one cat on the other side. This is what we did when we got a new adult cat. They would hiss and chase each other for a few days, but then get used to each other and be fine. The talking is good, too. The older cat is probably just confused and doesn't know what to do with the other cat. He will eventually get used to her.
