How do I introduce my 6 week old male kitten to my 3 year old male cat?

Hi,

I am getting a 6 week old male kitten tomorrow. However, I already have a 3 year old male cat (Alfie) now he's very protective of his territory for example if another cat comes into our garden he goes nuts and chases it. I'm scared that he may do this to our new kitten and as the kitten is so young it scares me even more. Does anyone have any useful tips that I can use with both cats to make life as easy as possible?

have them meet but make sure they cannot touch eachother so if it goes badly there will e no injuries. If it goes bad then try set you kitten up in another part of the house that hasnt claimed territory.

I got a kitten about three weeks ago, she is a female and we already had a 4 year old very dominant male cat.
When we got her, we just introduced the new kitten to her new home first and kept the other cat in a separate room with lots of food and comfort.
After an hour, we got the cat from the other room and held him in our arms and introduced him to the new kitten. He wasn't sure on this, but all the same, he came from our arms and investigated.
Your new kitten should take well to your cat because when we got ours, ours did because kittens see older cats as a motherly figure, even if they are male.
Just speak calmly to your cat when you introduce him to the new kitten. Our cat is very dominant towards other cats on the estate, he is in fights all the time... But he LOVES the new kitten...
As you can see from my icon, they are sitting together, new best friends!
Just make sure you still give Alfie as much attention as you give to the kitten, because cats do tend to get neglected once a newer pet comes into the home.
