I'm 18, and I came out as gay to my parents three months ago and they're slowly becoming more comfortable with it. They said they still loved me but they wish I was straight. For the first few weeks, they would try to set me up with girls and I would just decline politely. They've made progress though! Yesterday, they said having a gay son isn't so bad (lol). Well, I have a boyfriend and I think he should meet my family. They should meet him too because I want them to be part of my life.
But as soon as I introduce him, they'll immediately think "so this is the guy who made our son gay." I know it sounds stupid but it's what they'll think. But he's really special to me. He's funny, smart, caring, and VERY cute. We actually met at this LGBT pride parade in our city and we were both alone and decided to hang out together. He's an AWESOME guy and if he was a girl, I'm sure they would love him. And if they see how happy he makes me, then they would come around. So how do I warm them up to the idea of him coming over for dinner?
