How do I introduce myself to this boy I really like?

Ok, so there's this boy I really like at my college, and through a friend of a friend i've found him on facebook. I haven't added him yet, but I was wondering when I do, what do I say? Do I be really upfront and be like "Hi. I've seen you around, and I think your really gorgeous" or just be subtle, and more like "Hi, you don't know me, but i've seen you around..."?

And I would normally do this in person, but I only ever see him passing, and there's never enough time to go over and say hi, especially considering there are 8000 people at my college :/

Just walk up to him and say hey i'm ------- i have seen you around whats your name. Or if your a flirty girl walk p to him and flirt right out.

i would say the upfront approach, but only if you do it in person. and dont say gorgeous, cute would work better.
