How do i introduce two bearded dragons to each other?

i bought a bearded dragon on september 11, 2010, and i just today, October 1, 2010, bought another one. now i dont want them to fight or be mean. i was just wanting tips and information about what they might do before there about to fight, and how to keep the oldest one from being territorial. already the oldest one has nipped at the younger one on his/her back. so i got them at either sides of the tank where they have there own lights. i really need some help, please and thanks.

Sorry, but beardies and most other reptiles should not be housed together. One will always try to dominate the other and fighting is common. Two males will fight and severely injure each other. Even most females will have trouble. They are not community reptiles and do not enjoy company. Other beardies in their small confined "territory" are a threat and a stress. If you want to keep the new beardie, then get him his own setup. There is nothing remotely natural about 2 beardies living in close quarters with no escape potential.

That is rather pointlessly dangerous. You are going to want to make sure to get them sexed. Two females can get along (they can still fight, and get stressed from constant dominance issues). Two males will fight, not really negotiable. Male and Female, the male will likely attack the female and/or over breed her.

Well, get them both sexed and if they are both male, face it, they will fight and you'll need a different cage. if they are both female they shouldn't fight, but the older one MAY be territorial at first. if the older one's beard goes BLACK when you put the younger one in the cage, then the older one is uncomfortable with it being there and you'll need another tank. if one is male and the other is female, then be prepared for babies. that's another reason you should get them sexed.

I have two bearded dragons and it is not recommended to get 2 at different times and put them together.One thing you can do is show your first one that your new one is safe and harmless.
