My flight got overbooked and British Airways reimbursed me by issuing a Visa Electron card and depositing some cash while I was at Heathrow Airport. Now I'm back in Singapore and I can't seem to use ATMs to withdraw the cash even though the ATMs are Visa compliant.
After keying in the correct pin number, I get a choice of Current, Savings, or Credit, and choosing either to check the balance results in an Invalid Operation on the machine. I even tried going to a bank teller and he said he cannot withdraw the cash from a credit or debit card for me.
Anyone had a similar experience in another country?
