How do you get rid of the new facebook chat and side bar?

The other day on facebook i was given the option to have a look at the new chat so i continued to do so, only now to realise how terrible it is. Yes i am given the chance to "hide" the side bar, but then it appears once again when you re-fresh your screen. And also with the chat it does not show me all of my friends who are online, at the moment it says i have 51 people online and i am only visible to 6, it also shows people on the side who are offline..i don't care about offline people i want to see who is online!!!! It's rather frustrating and i'd rather not have to search for peoples name to see wether they are online or not, i'd rather just see it automatically. Facebook needs to take note of the complaints from people and change this asap. Or does anyone for this matter know how to disable this new feature? please please comment if you know how to do so! THANK YOU SO MUCH :)
