How do you introduce yourself? real name or nickname?

SO how do you introduce yourself to someone you have never met before. Do you say your real name like Anthony or your nickname Tony.

Well, my name doesn't have a nickname. I it did, then maybe it would depend on the person, but I think I'd still tell everyone my nickname. I mean, there's nothing necessarily informal about "Tony" if you only have the name "Anthony" on your papers, etc.

I use my real name if it is for something important like a doctor, boss at work, or contract.

it depends on if I attend something with people form the podcast community I often say both my twitter name and real name.
it would be different lf it was the really the same name like Tony/Anthony or Marcus/Marc than I would go by the version I liked to be called.
