How do you remove your yahoo answers contact from chat?

I believe that one of them is reporting all my questions... I've received 6000 violations from the same user and can't figure out how to remove this guy from my contact list
When I try to block them it says "you cannot block someone who is on your messenger list. Please remove them from your messenger list and then try again."

But I can't figure out how to remove them from my messenger list. I've tried everything. This person has been harassing me for 3 years.

Block them, and then edit your preferences on YA so people can't be your fan.

go to the list and take him off inside profile..the problem comes when some have 355 faces...good luck

click on their avatar and select block. IN YMessenger remove them as a contact from your YM

as an aside I do report spammers or people who flame others. I learned the lesson the hardway.. I had a prior account that was suspending during the 2008 presidential election as I was being a real jerk at times. Toning down the the rhetoric is important. We live in a civil society. I think it is important to reflect this in cyberspace. There is no such thing as being anonymous. Even though it may seem funny at the time, I've come to realize if I say something here I should be able to say it direct to the person as well.

You can easily open up a different account and just reconnect with the people you completely trust. Or you could even do a weeding out process that way and find out which one of your contacts is doing that.

As far as just removing only one, I'd guess you just block them from your account.
