How does a guy introduce himself to a guy he likes?

And living in a Southern, largely homophobic area?

Asking this is kind of embarrassing, but I don't really want to run the risk of physical assault.

You run into the occasional jerk anywhere you go. I have an open relationship with my girlfriend, she is bi, I am not, but some men assume I am bi because of our lifestyle. They hit on me because they want to know, I am not bothered by it, I say thanks but no thanks and they move on. No reason to hit a person, we are all human that's that. You might feel him out the way I would feel a person out take your chances, and live a little on the safe side till you have a better clue as to what is going on. People can be mean and hateful, we have a long way to go. Good luck.
