There's this person I don't know, but would like to befriend. They are the friend of a friend of a friend (seriously). I'd like to introduce myself to her (not necessarily romantically) with an email message. The problem is that I really don't have anything to say. She's a musical and graphic artist, and I could talk about that, but I really don't know her and it feels like a trite and lame thing to do.
I can't give too much information because I'd like to maintain at least some degree of privacy here. I feel that just saying "hi" and asking how things are going would make me seem like an idiot or something (could be wrong). I also feel that acting as though it's some sort of formal interview would make me seem like some kind of weirdo (again, I could be wrong).
As stupid or unimportant as this issue may seem, it means a lot to me, and with each day that passes I feel that any chance of something developing are slipping further and further away. Call me a Drama King (or Suicide King, if you prefer), but that's the situation. Any thoughts?
