How should I introduce these people to each other?

See, I have a friend from Russia. I told her I'd had a classmate last year who had also come from Russia. When she asked me more about it him, it turned out they were probably from the same part of Russia. She became very excited and asked me to introduce them; the problem is, I haven't talked to him since last year, and barely even talked to him then. It'd be rather awkward to just go up and say "Hi, you used to know me and there's this other girl that wants to know you." How should I deal with this?

Just tell him the facts. You have a Russian friend who is from his area.This friend would like to meet him and chat about home.
