How to and how to not introduce a character into a book?

Pretty much says it all. Just want you opinions on what you think the right way or wrong way of introducing a new character into a book is.

What really irks me when new characters are introduced into a story is when the author tries to condense every detail of that character's life into a few paragraph.

Keep it short and sweet; you can always elaborate on the more important details of their background later, and in batches.

Really, any way that suits you is good. It's your story and character . However, in my personal opinion, introducing a character during the day-to-day things with no significance to the plot, for example, brushing their teeth or waking up, is a bit boring. Normally that turns me off a story. Hope that helps . Really, there is no wrong way. Just make sure it suits you and your story.

I don't think there is a wrong way except to make the chars entrance into the story to fit the story's
overall feel. DO NOT go over the usual nothing tooo amazing i guess


main char goes to a grocery store and runs into and old friend then they meet up later on because
they made plans

main char is a superhero and he sees another superhero fighting on his streets
