How to find office space?

Hi, this may seem kind of ignorant, but how do you look for office space? Do you contact a real esate person or what? Do you just look in the paper ?????/I know the areas I'd like to have space in, but how do I search to see if there is anything? And do I need a permit to operate massage business before I rent space. Many questions!!!!!! ???

How to find office space?

It all depends on the business statutes set up by the city or town you life in as to whether or not you have to get a permit.As for knowing where to look to find office space, realtors (who specialize in commercial/industrial real estate) can help you but you can also look for yourself in your local newspaper(s) or even just driving around town and seeing the "for lease" signs at different strip malls, commercial buildings, retail parking lots, etc. which provides a phone number for you to call and check on the rates/square fooeforum.xxxe available/etc.www.craigslist.com is one place to start. To find my office space, I drove around and looked in the areas I thought were good for business.  I copied all the numbers on any office leasing signs I saw and called them.I actually found a great deal but it wasn't where I had been looking.  One of the numbers I called told me about another space they were leasing.  I got a great deal in a wonderful locale.  You can also call those office lease numbers and tell them what you are looking for and someone should be able to help you.If your state is regulated, you will probably have to purchase a massage license for place of business from them.  If not, contact your local courthouse to find out.

I found my office space just by driving by and seeing a sign.  I only needed a very small space.  A lot of the commercial realtors don't handle such small spaces, so I was finding things in the classifieds of the paper.  The building I'm in now actually had a much larger space that was with a realtor.  I couldn't tell who the agent was because the sign had fallen down, so I called the dentist in the office to see if they could tell me the information.  As luck would have it, the dentist was the landlord and he told me about this small single office he also had for rent in addition to the large space.  He didn't have to pay the realtor fee on my space and I saved some money too because I was able to negotiate with him.  If you have your eye on a specific building, then find out who the landlord is and contact them.
