How to get started with a vet

Greetings All,
This is the first time I've posted to this section. I just met a vet who is opening a pet rehab/therapy office across the street from me. She practices accupuncture and has a great reputation. She was interested in using my services, offered to lend me a distance-learning course and said that I probably know 95% of what's needed.
She will be up and running the first week of December. My questions are the following:
1. How long is a typical canine massage session?
2. How much is a reasonable fee?
3. What does a treatment plan look like?
This vet will have a chiropractor in once a week, is installing a water treadmill and looks to have a complete rehab facility.
I'm stoked. 8)

1. How long is a typical canine massage session?

Anywhere from 5 min to 60 min - depending on their health, pain they are in, tolerance for time receiving massage, temperament, history with touch and humans/trust level, environment where the massage will be taking place (smells, noises, other distractions), etc. Typically, when an animal is used to receiving massage, the sessions can run 40 - 60 min.

2. How much is a reasonable fee?

In that situation, I would charge $1 per minute with a minimum...like 15 or 30. Basically, very similar pricing to human massage.

3. What does a treatment plan look like?

Again, for me, this is individual to the animal. Instead of filling out an in-take on a person, I fill one out on the animal. We go from there. I typically start at the head and work to tail, side of body, to feet...and then go back and address specific areas of need. This aspect is similar to human massage, as well. The major difference is in the communication...rather than verbal, it's ALL about body language and posturing. And, that is where the fun begins for me!
