I have a 14 month old Westie (West Highland White Terrier) and he is very excitable. When anyone enters the home, he jumps up and grabs onto something (a piece of your clothing or something lying around), but after 5-10 min he calms down. Another problem is, if he knows someone is at the door, he will bark and scratch the door of the room he is in. The thing is my sister and her Husband live with me and they are soon to have a baby. I want to know what I can do to make it an easy transition for all. And the baby is safe. I play baby noises around the dog and he is basically trained (Sit, Stay, Lye Down, etc.) But I want to know what else I can do.
I want to teach the dog how to not jump up and to not grab anything or anyone. So people that come in aren't scared by my dog. Thanks xx
