how to introduce a female puppy to a adult male dog.?

I have a 2 year old APBT and a 6 month old hound mix. I'm having issues getting them to get along....the hound mix just wants to rough house with my pit and the APBT just wants to mount this hound puppy.....Please help!
they are both fixed the problem is there was no sniffing....she went straight to playing with him like he was one of her puppy playmates and he went straight to mounting her.....I might try that one suggestion about making him submit to me when they next meet later tonight (my girlfriend took her with her with some friends) it's just really really weird because i'm in control all the time until he got around her and my girlfriend...my pit is not dog cat or human aggressive....sob/ something to work on I suppose.

I agree with the above posted, hormones ar eplaying a role her.
Dominance too. What you need to do is establish what is suitable behaviour for them both, and hold them to it. This will take time and patience. Try not to get frustrated as this will lead to more excitement from both dogs.
If you continue to struggle, you may need to get a trainer to help you.

Yes, fixing him will help, a lot. But with pits sometimes you have to hold them down and let the little dog do what ever she wants until the male just takes it and relaxes. If you are not the boss of your dog or it is not your dog don't do this. You may have to do that every time you don't like what hes doing. Don't do this is in a harmful or painful way. If he is your dog and you're the boss it should be fairly easy.

Get your boy neutered NOW. That will curb some of the mounting behavior to the female puppy.

Otherwise, its normal dominance display but you still should be in charge and control. Correct him whenever he does this.

And be sure she is spayed quickly!
