How to introduce a Kitten to a existing Cat?

We have had our male cat for 5 years and we've just got a new female kitten so how do we introduce them to each other?

i would put the kitten in the extra bathroom for a few days, make sure that kitten has a cat box, a blanket, food and water..........

im sure your older cat Will sniff under the door and get pretty pissed off at the situation.........but just be patient.......

eventually, the kitten will be playing and chasing the other cat and they will get along........you just need to be patient........

PS, never scold your resident cat for having a hissy-fit. Instead, provide hugs, kisses and reassurance that the new kitten isn't a threat. Your cat may feel insecure about his place in the family. I guess it's kinda like when older children think they're unloved when a new baby enters the family. Just spoil your resident cat with extra love and yummy treats and toys. You need to ensure to keep stresses to a minimum to ensure a successful relationship between the two kitties.

First of all instead of going straight there (introducing them face to face) you need to do other things. Keep them separated for at least two days. During them two days, get something the female kitten has left her scent on than show it to the male. This is because they need to get used to each others scent. Then do the same with the female, get something the male has left his scent on and show the female. After that bring them so they can see each other but not interact with. On the second day finally put them together. because they are female and male problems could occur like hissing and spitting. If they fight then separate them quickly. You want them to be kind to one another right. This could take a couple more days. But day by day they should come familiar with each other and live a happy life together.

first, go to the room where the male cat spends most of its time. remove the male from the room and let the female walk around. she will put her scent in the room so put her in places where the male sleeps, plays, and eats. remove the female and release the male back in. do this for about a week then try having them meet through a glass door or screen. if they seem calm, have one person hold the female and another person hold the male and let the male small the females "rear". do the same for the female. eventually you can put them together but ultimately, your the judge. if they don't seem relaxed or the male is growling or hissing wait. if the female is growling or hissing shes prob. just scared.

The most important part of introducing a new kitten is making sure they are comfortable and not stressed. Choose a room with a solid door that the male cat rarely goes into (so as not to make him territorial) and set the kitten up there with food/water/litmassageplanetox/etc. Socialize the kitten with you and anyone else in your house, giving them and your male cat lots of attention for a few days, but keep the cats apart. After a few days, open the kitten's door and let them explore the house if they want, but keep the male cat at a distance unless the kitten approaches it. Feed them out of separate bowls but near each other, and keep a close eye on them to prevent fighting. They should be pretty much used to each other by this point and you can let them both free in the house.
