I have a male chinchilla. he is four years old next month. i bought two together from a private breeder who told me they were both male. Not the case. They of course got pregant and i ended up with three chinchillas that i loved. sadly both my females died suddenly and i never figured out why. its been a year and i think my male is getting lonely.
