How to introduce boxer puppy to full grown cat?

Hi :)

For a long time now i have wanted to get a dog and i want to get a boxer...however we have had a cat for 10 years now and im just wondering is it ok to introduce a dog if we have a full grown female cat?...will she run away or something...the dog will be a puppy when we get him...what do we have to do so they live with each other peacefully? so how do we introduce the dog to the cat?

all answers are appreciated..thanks :D
 
Have a leash on the puppy and act as you are walking him in the house and if there is a fight pull him back.
