How to introduce our new baby to our 3 dogs?

We have 3 female dogs in the house. We have a dachshund mix (13 years old), a chihuahua (3 years old) and a papillon (2 years old). I'm a little worried about how they're going to react when we bring our baby girl home in january. I babysit my niece one day a week. She's 1 year old and they seem to do alright when she's there, but they're always happier when she leaves. And they get a little jealous when I'm holding her and not them. What's the best way to introduce our new baby to our 3 4-legged babies?

What I done was put a water baby in some of his baby clothes -of course b4 he got to wear them cause he was in my tummy- i'd wrap the baby up in his blanket, an lay the water baby in the swing, or bouncy i'd tell the dogs shhh quite time, lay down. I kept doing this till they listened. Then I would hold the water baby for hours at time, if I was watchin tv, or on the computer, just so they knew they don't have my 24/7 undivided attention anymore.

well i have 5 dogs. 4 yorkies and a loopy english bull terrier. wot i done was wen she was born was to get some1 to take a blanket from the hospital. home and giv it to the dogs. i was also worried about them jumping in or knockin over the moses basket...so i got a travel cot and placed the moses basket inside there during the day.the dogs could see here threw the cot and sniff all the wanted without even touching her.. o also set up the babies things in place a few weeks b4 shes due to come home so the dogs get used to the new smells and new furniture in the house. best wishes with ur little 1

one thing you could do is when the baby is born.. let your husband/boyfriend whoever.. bring home a blanket and let them sniff it first so they will smell the baby first before you bring her/him home..

another thing you could do , i know this sounds silly but use a baby doll, and act like your caring for it, put it in swing.. etc all the baby stuff so the dogs will see its babies not theirs.. they will get use to the new baby, just try to give them attention too!
