How to introduce two dogs that do not live together but will be spending a...

...lot of time together? Planning on introducing my GSD/Malamute to a friend's Golden Retriever this summer. Both are girls and very hyper and friendly, perfect match. We spend a lot of time outside in the summer and intend to keep the dogs with us most of the time. How should we introduce them so they're more likely to like each other?

you should take them on a very long walk together and not allow them to sniff each other for the first half of the walk ... walk for as long as you can as the point of the first half of the walk is to wear them out a bit ... when you are ready to turn around and come home you can let the dogs near each other and sniff about a bit ... i work as a dog walker/sitter and this is how i introduce all new dogs ... never had a fight in over six years ...

Take them to a neutral location, a dog park or something along those lines, someplace that neither dog will feel territorial about.
Let them get to know one another in the way dogs do. A dog park is a great place becuase they can run and play and have some fun as opposed to being on a leash.
Dog parks are also a great tool to keep your dog socialized to prevent future aggression toward other dogs.
