How to introduce two new young guinea pigs to my 3/4 year old guinea pig?

I used to have two guinea pigs, both 3/4 years of age. Unfortunately, one of them died over the winter. The other (Cookie) seems OK, he was still eating and had no problems with his companion dying. However, lately he seems to be missing him a lot, and I can't help thinking that he is very lonely, as I don't spend a huge amount of time with him. I think if he had some companions he would really love it. His hutch and run are big enough to house 3 guinea pigs, I just wondered if a guinea pig owner could tell me a good way to introduce them to my guinea pig. He is male btw.

Put the cages next to each other and first let them get use to the scent of eachother after atleast a few days let them meet eachothers home and then you can let them be together if it all goes well.
If they are the same gender they will get on pretty fine aslong as you treat them the same, one will be the dominant one of course. But other than that play games with them and make sure they spend time together to get to know each other before making them live together.

Quarantine the new pig first! BEFORE you try putting them together, you need to keep them apart for two to three weeks to make sure the new guinea pig does not have any medical problems which could be transmitted to the other.

If one is sick or has any parasites or fungal infections, you'll want to treat that one first, rather than risk spreading the condition to the other guinea pig.

Quarantine means keeping the guinea pigs in two different rooms, which of course requires two separate cages. If you bought a pet store cage and have since realized it's too small, you can use the cage for quarantine until the pigs can be introduced.
