how to record chats in Y! chat folder?

i WANT to keep a record of my chats. i have 2 email addresses and one has a Y! chat folder (that records your chat) while the other has a Y! conversations folder (records info on calls). i was wondering why they have different records (one for chat and the other for calls). i want both to be Y! chat folders. any idea how to do that and why they're different? thanks.
