Actually, , this is incorrect. I'm shy, and I'm making it. I do outcalls, and though I am not outgoing by nature, and am actually truly shy, I do still have a personality....just not the same "people person" personality that works for you. I am sure my personlity, and therefore my approach, appeals to different people than yours does.

I think you can be shy, but your personality still has to be inviting.

RoS - you do have a pretty inviting personality from what I have seen on this forum. So, you probably are not exactly what SandyO was talking about.

Okay, maybe shy was not the correct word to use, I certainly do not want to offend anyone. But it does take the right personality. If you do not attract people, then It is definaelty going to be harder to start or build a private practice.

Sorry, Sandy, I was not at ALL offended. I just didn't want anyone to be discouraged because they are shy by nature. We really DO attract a totally different clientele, I think, but that can easily be a plus. It's like with different modalities....all are going to work for some people better than others. There are plenty of clients to go around, and the more variety we have in modalities, practice styles, even personality or type of clothing/decor....etc. etc. etc. just means there is more of a chance for each type of client to find the MT that he or she needs.
