How to talk to your crush on Facebook chat or text?

So this is for a friend of mine

She likes this boy which goes to our school but we don't really hang around with the same social group. They're in about 2 classes together and it's only recently that she has started talking to him. She wasn't to talk to him more but finds it really awkward to and get very nervous. She was wondering how she could talk to him on Facebook chat or text? She texted him the other day and she said that it felt like he was very to the point and she felt like she was bugging him. Any advice on how she can start a conversation off with him without her feeling awkward or anything. Thanks

Ask if he can help with something, white lie to get his attention or just tell your friend to try and be nice to him. You'd be surprised how many guys respond happily to attention. Pick one of the classes he's in, talk about the homework that has been set or if he can help her. That's a good way to build the foundations up for any conversation.
