How would a massage therapist, working with a chiropractor, bill insurance companies?

I got into this job with little to no explanation of my job details (other than massaging anyone the Dr. threw at me), and learned a few days ago that I am responsible for billing the insurance companies independently. I have: the insurance information, the referral for massage, my schedule of clients for the last two weeks. What do I need to do to get paid?
Most of the claims are auto insurance cases, and I know that many of these clients have been authorized to receive massage in cooperation with their chiropractic work. I'm really looking for an answer that describes billing procedures, such as specific forms, codes, etc.

I don't know of any insurance companies that cover theraputic massage.

What you do, is call each insurance company, and ask them. You'll need their specific claim form. You'll have to fill it out and send it in. IF there's actually any coverage, they'll pay either you, or the insured person, their share - and then you have to collect either the rest, or the full amount, from the person you gave the massage to.

Collecting for this, is a HUGE job. It's going to take you longer to do all the paperwork and track it down, than it does for the massage. Most doctors hire someone to do the medical billing for them. And most massage therapists, collect the money in full from the clients, and let the CLIENTS get the reimbursement from the insurance.
