Hua Hin

Hi Guys,
I am travelling to LOS in October and I was thinking of spending a few days in Hua Hin.Has anyone got any reports on this town and is there a bar / nightlife scene in the town?

Was there 2 weeks ago, but only for two nights - there was are bar scene, but a lot smaller than Patongs, but was very friendly and not pushy or in your face. Good street/night market and very good beaches - will certainly return

I just returned from there a couple of weeks ago. I spent a week there and even though I was with my girlfriend I could see a couple of bars there.I really enjoyed it for it's lack of a scene. It's a lot less touristy and things are generally cheaper then elsewhere. You must try the pancakes at the night market near the shopping plaza.

Back on this forum after a long while as I tend to spend most holidays in Hua Hin now (Sorry Phuket :aww: )

Though its a lot quieter than Phuket or Pattaya, I do find Hua Hin a very relaxing destination.

There is a variety of hotels to suit most budgets; ranging from the Sofitel and Hilton, to cheap, good and clean ones like Jings Guesthouse and Top Marks. All that I've stayed in are girl friendly and hassle free.

Soi Bintabhat is the main bar area and everywhere is within walking/seforum.xxxgering/crawling distance (depending on the time of night), just a few streets of closely packed drinking establishments of varying quality - Octopussy (great uniforms girls h: ), PP's and Romantic Bar all stand out and the girls are not so pushy for lady drinks as other resorts I've been to in LOS. As mentioned previously, there's also a Lolita's in town. If you want to spend time completely hassle free, the likes of Jonny Walkers, O'Neills and Lucky Shot (great pool tables) are all good places to while away a few hours.

There's plenty of choice for food at reasonable prices - from plastic chair noodle bars to El Murphys Steak House.

Haven't found any soapy massage places yet, but quite a few of the massage places offer that little bit extra by way of a service (so I've been told :bad: )

The Hilton Hotel has a nightclub that goes on to the small hours and FL's can be found there most nights.

The Huahinafterdark forum is a good place to check for further information and a map of the area.

In the end, people tend to like different things on their holiday, so its up to you - all I can say is that it ticks all the boxes for me.

PP's is my favorite bar in Hua Hin
nice size bar, comfortable and bar staff very cool
and always have 4-5 girls that are pretty

According to the Brit Bloke from the West Country on the boat over to Club Andaman who lives there, that there are around 40+ thousand properties for sale up there at the moment!

We didn't believe him either but if it is remotely true, might be the time to snap up a bargain and move!

I'm an HH fan too....but its the quality of the water/beaches on that side of the Peninsular that always gives me doubt...also that it may be a little TOO quite for a LT stay..but hey BKK is only 2 hrs away!

i never really cared for the water either but i have to say this last time in June, it seemed a lot better. still not the quality of Phuket

but i do love that you can pull up a lounge and a table right to the edge of water and have a beer and chill

One thing I like about HH and Cha Am.. Is as they are not restricted by land area and have a wide range from the sea to the hills behind, the area is able to expand and there isnt the same mad piling up of building atop building.. Its able to spread in a leisurely way.

The lack of 'andaman blue' is a bit of a shame, but the improved public works, and lowering of scammeing and rip off vibe is welcome.

According to the bloke we were chatting to on the boat over for the Visa run, it has arrived. He moved there (HH) from Phuket (Chalong) and is on the move again to somewhere I can't pronounce because of it.

Reckons there is a hell of a lot of property, built, ready for occupancy, not selling but more and more being built anyway.............Sounds Familiar!

The bloke's right. There a load of building going on along the main road south of Hua Hin. I was talking to a guy who bought two houses off-plan early last year. Must admit I was very tempted myself but wound up in Singapore instead of BKK so shelved the idea. Don't know if he sold or not after they were built.

The only trouble is that some of the developments are a fair bit outside the town so taxi or car would be necessary.

one thing about Hua Hin, is i find it very hectic once you get outside the little tourist village
