You don't really earn more money in less time in massage.
Spa jobs don't pay well ($15-25 an hour). If you are self-employed, half of your income will be eaten up with expenses. And for every hour of paid massage you have to work at least another 1/2 hour cleaning, doing laundry, marketing, billing, etc. The average self-employed massage practitioner ends up bringing home around $25 per massage considering expenses and unpaid labor.
Your body can only handle around 20 hours of massage a week, which means you'll only end up bringing home about $25,000 a year.
I made a lot more money as a spa owner, but in the end it was far too much pain and agony to be worthwhile. It might be OK as a part-time supplemental income.
