I can't connect my Dell Studio 15 to my Sony TV - (Newbie)?

Hi there,

This is my first post so I apologise if i am in the wrong place etc. etc.

My problem is I use to connect my Dell Studio 1555 to my Sony TV on a regular basis but since I connected the laptop to a Samsung TV I no longer get a picture when I connect it back to the Sony.

It works perfectly fine on the Samsung still but unfortunately that TV isn't mine.

It's driving me nuts so hopefully somebody can help me, please

I have done this several times but it doesn't seem as if the TV is reading my laptop if that makes sense. I get the connection sound on my laptop when I connect it but nothing from the TV. The HDMI cable and ports are fine as I use the same TV with my PS3. It was all fine until I connected it to the Samsung a week ir so ago

if your running it with an hdmi, try hitting Fn. and whatever (F) key it is.
Get to the one that says Hdmi to monitor. . .the key should look like a laptop pointing to a minitor.

on mine i just press Fn, F1.
