My mom has edema from time to time when she doesn't remember to take her Levothyroxine. We elevate her legs and it helps a lot. She also restricts her fluid intake. I bought her tights at Target and she wears them all the time at home. It has become her anti-embolism stocking and at the same time she feels stylish (Gotta love her LOL). About the massage therapy... I don't think you have to spend money on it. A regular rub down from someone will usually help. Just don't apply too much pressure. Also, if it's pitting edema, you shouldn't restrict fluids... it's weird, but it's a sign of dehydration. Hope this helps!
