I just got a little shiatsu off a lady that was neglecting her.And i'm

trying to find a home for her.? The poor little dog has never been groomed or taken to a groomer and is aggressively afraid of the clippers.I have taken her to a groomer and she went crazy trying to bite the groomer at every chance she got due to the pain of the clippers pulling at her fur while it was being cut off.
I had to hold the muzzle on her for to get her completely matted fur shaved off because we could not use a sedative on her due to her being so badly under weight.Her toenails where curling under into the bottoms of her paws and were hidden under the mated fur surrounding them and cutting off circulation to her toes.She could barley walk because of this.Her backside was completely soaked and mated with fecal matter,and has scabs from the fur being so tightly matted
I have contacted the Animal Cruelty Center and have all the evidence for prosecuting this woman for neglect and animal cruelty.I am hoping for a jail sentence and princely fine.
But my main concern is to get the little dog rehabilitated and into a caring and loving family who will make sure she is cared for and appreciated.
I need help finding a very good rehabilitation center i can take her to that is not expensive because i'm paying out of my pocket and don't have very much money to throw around.

Go online and see if there's a small dog rescue in your area. They take all small breeds and would be your best resource.

You do mean Shih Tzu right? Shiatsu is a massage technique.

There are numerous no-kill rescue organizations that will adopt out a dog only to the right family. Good for you for taking care of this dog and removing her from a neglectful owner. If you are willing to foster her until another organization finds her a home, they will usually list them for adoption on their website or petfinder for free and charge an adoption fee for the animal (for care, spay/neuter, veterinary services, etc.) You can search on petfinder.com for a rescue in your area that is willing to take her and adopt her out to the proper home.

Thank you for rescuing this little dog. You can do a web search on "Shih Tzu Rescue" (I think shiatsu is a form of massage) and look for some nearby. You'll probably find several. Also look for "small dog rescue". Find as many rescues in your area as you can. Why? Because not all rescues have room for more and also because she might be a little hard to place due to the problems she has with grooming.

I wish you good luck on your lawsuit. As a groomer, I've seen many dogs whose owners I would have loved to get arrested/prosecuted but can do nothing about because they DID bring their dogs in for grooming which apparently indicates an adequate(?) level of care to our overworked animal authorities.

BTW, when no kill shelters are full, they don't always tell you. They simply send the excess animals off to kill shelters. Beware!

I'm assuming you mean Shih Tzu? The clippers do NOT hurt. They do not pull the fur...they cut right thru it. The agitation is from fear, not pain. Shih Tzus are one of the worse to have matted coats. I used to be a groomer. Had to use wire cutters...little snips...to cut the nails from the front of the foot, because as you said the nails were growing under the toe into the pad. I bet her teeth are a sight to behold. I am sure once you get her cleaned up she will find a good home, and I'm sure you are taking care of her nutrition problem.
