I never said Sanborns is the best Mexican food. I said it is good food. Admittedly the food is a bit bland. But, I still recommend it as a safe place to eat in TJ.

For a bit more authentic food, I have eaten at massageplanete La Especial on Revolucion near calle 3 (or somewhere around there) and I have also eaten from the taco stand there. But, the place is well regarded. And Tijuana Tillys on Revolucion near Calle 7 is decent, as well. But, let's face it. We don't go to TJ for the food.
