I usually pay with cash but I have paid with visa before, I did rack up one massive visa bill before, for like $1000 in one week. After that I always leave my CC in the car or at home before I enter an MP. Being able to sign for your BS is just too easy and you forget how much this adds up to very quickly.

I agree with the others. While the hobby is very enjoyable, it can also be a financial burden. You just have to outline your budget accordingly. Take advantage from some of the investment plans that might be offer by your employer. Your employer would automatically deduct a lump sum from each of your payroll and redirect this amount into your desired investment. I found this being the best method as it forced me to save and limited my spending.

I've read about addicted gambler cashing in their
entire RRSP account to benefit their favourite casino.
I myself am always tempted to sell my stocks so
I can afford a special offer to my favourite MPA.
There has to be a way to have your investment locked in
for a decade for this to work.

Here is one way to quit or at least to cut down your
visit to the MP at least temporarily. Seek out a cheap, old and haggard MPA. The experience of getting jerked off by a granny will be so disgusting that it will be more helpful
than a counselling session provided by a professional.

I had one such encounter nearly a decade ago. I remember
tthe MP was on the east side of yonge a few blocks north
of Eglinton in a second-floor apartment (above a wine
store if memory serves). And I am now a disclipined.,
non-addictive hobbyist who always stick to only a few
low-profile MPAs.
