Iceman Cold Therapy System

Thought I'd post this as a heads-up for therapists who work on athletes, or come across clients who suffer inflammation/injuries that could use cold therapy - my supervisor at (non-massage, hee) work has one that her husband used to treat a knee injury a little while ago, it's a machine that pulsate-pumps icy water in a continuous loop through a universally-fitting cuff. Neat invention, imo.

I hear they run about $300 retail, but eBay sure has a lot listed, and they look easy to disinfect

I'm thinking it'd be something good to have hangin around my practice later, for clients to borrow/rent as needed. I hear it works wonders.

We give them, rent them (from the company itself) to our Shoulder Surg. patients. It does work wonders....from what the Dr's report.
We also use the DonJoy slings and pain pumps. Great things in my opinion.

Oh yeah, I don't know what I would have done without mine!!! If I knew that they were that inexpensive to purchase, I would have... since a weeks rental was $265!!! x2 knee surgeries... once I got that going, I was in heaven. They say not to sleep with it on, but that was the only thing that allowed me to be numb enough to actually get some sleep in. And it helped that I was going through the ice/packs in my house too quickly. Whoever invented that was a genious. Now if they could have only invented one that was lighter weight, or for travel.

Actually now looking at the picture, I had a slightly different model... even so... well worth it!!!

my step mother said she couldn't have recouped from her shoulder sugery with out this... wow! I didn't know that they were available for purchase!!! Figured it was something only MDs could get hold of.
