I'd like to know if Idem's principal market is tico or gringo. I understand the gringo gravitation towards NF, HLH, Zona and such, but Idem?
I typically walk right past Idem (and Eros), but I have a slew of fond memories at Relax. I'll need to poke my head in at Idem and see what the (higher-priced) fuss is all about.

I was at RELAX a couple days ago watching the Tope parade which came down the street in front of Relax and Idem (Calle 11). All the chicas from both Relax, and Idem (and Eros also) were out in front during the entire parade having a ball (Well at least the Relax chicas were :wink: : ) They were flirting with the viqueros, trying to get the viqueros to kiss them, trying to get the viqueros to let them up on the horses and even taking pictures and getting phone numbers of the guys. All 10 of the chicas had a ball the whole time.

And where were the Idem chicas? Occasionally standing in the door but not hardly even smiling. Only saw 3; one very doable, the other two should have stayed inside in the dark!! One was FAT, the other was at least 45!! Maybe they look good in the dark (now I know why they keep the bar area where the chicas are SO dark!!! The Eros chicas were about the same quality as Idem. Neither group of chicas ever joined in the fun of the parade like the Relax chicas Just maybe that is the big difference and the drawing card for many of us!!! The Relax chicas like to have fun and know how!!! Right now the Relax chicas are much better looking than the other chicas (Idem and Eros) and at a lower price!!! Oh and the only person they do not change the sheets for is Orange!!!!! They DO CHANGE THE SHEETS for everyone else!!!!!!!! :roll: :twisted: :

Bashful, yes most of Idems customers are Tico!! That said, the last few months I am not sure just how they are staying in business! Very few customers and few chicas! Most of the Ticos are well aware that there are much better places; even better "high-end" places. From what I hear from Ticos, about the only guys still frequently Idem are the long time customers who just do not like change. With there now being 6-7 other $75 and up MPs, and all with much better quality chicas, it appears the wealthier Ticos no longer are going to Idem

There were some really attractive chicas at Relax, and if I wasn't spending all my time and money at Scores, I would have been there. But I think one of the attractions to Idem is that it is also a bar. I don't understand why so many MPs have nothing other than girls, unless they just want guys in and out as fast as possible. I enjoy hanging out with the girls as much as sessioning with them. I agree though that Idem is just not a good deal compared to other options.

I always liked the selection at Idem, and really liked Roberto, its long time owner/manager, sadly no longer with us.

As far as drinking, despite the "2 for 1" w/ the CRT card, it was an expensive place to drink - hell, even the sodas were expensive.

Frankly, if you have the option, take them back to your room, for the same or lower price - to pay $60 or $70 in an MP was just crazy - even if you are not the smoothest guy you should be able to pull a girl out of the HDR for similar money.

An MP is like a law firm - the talent comes in and later leaves - depending on the line up, Idem could be in the top tier of all San Jose MP's - or not, depending on the line up - frankly, I think give how much they charge, they should have offered something extra - not sure what - but unless the girl was super hot, there are better alternatives.

Now that you ask, I'm not 100% certain he did - but he is no longer at Idem - I had heard he was ill - and thought he passed - if not, great, as I always liked him and thought he ran a great place

ahem! Wouldn't this also hold true for NF, Scores, Zona as well?? They all share the same price point as Idem ... just not the same quality, IMHO.

You say that like Scores and Zona2 are the only 2 nice places here!! And I am not knocking neither Scores nor Zona2, but have YOU been in either of the 360s, Fusion,, Divas, Roxan, Gentlemens club, Sala San Jose, Monalisa's girls, M&S? :?: NO, none of these are "Gringo" owned, but then this is not the USA either!! All of these are new, or nearly new, and very nice facilities. But then I go to MPs for the chicas first and foremost!!!! Yes they need to have a certain amount of "cleanliness", but I am not looking for "elegant", I'm looking for the best combination of chica quality, service, price, and facilities, and in that order!!!!

That said, I am not defending Idems in anyway! In my opinion you are right the facilities are crappy and in desperate need of updating and remodeling, the quality and service of the chicas certainly does not justify the price; a bar is a plus, but when it is the highest priced bar in the area, that plus is negated.

Oh, and sadly all of the places I listed except for the two 360s are more expensive than even Idem. But when considering price you must take into account the final price for the same level of service. Things like chicas charging for "extras" such as BBBJ, GFE, etc and the demand, or at least serious request, for a tip must be added to the price when comparing prices at the different places.

The thing that makes RELAX so appealing to so many guys is the overall consistent quality of the chicas, the level of service provided by those chicas, the lack of pressure for a "tip" , few charge extra for extras, the price is very good, and thou the facilities may not be the best, and the shower seems to (lately) often not have hot water, it is still better than most!!!

Scuba's point, Tiles, was that when a base-price-hourly MP session approaches the entry point for an hourly indie session, then the options board has really been expanded.
If S and Z are 'significantly' cheaper than Idem, then they must also be 'significantly' more expensive than 360, Relax and Castillo. From a Dollars' perspective, the adverb is not warranted: they're all pretty cheap.
I absolutely agree with you about the 'cleanup/renovations' activities at S and Z. They are very nice places, and Scores/HLH is my home-away-from-home.

BD, I'm not gonna go to a MP to secession when for the same money - or less - I can stay in my room - I hate going to the rooms in an MP - if Idem charges $60, and you are "upsold" and then you tip - for Christ sakes you are approaching the asking price at a little pink place many are familiar with :shock: :

Or to be more clear, if I can get someone to come to my room for $50 or $60, why would I pay $60 and up at an MP - which I hate the rooms, showers, whatever.

In every MP, things can change depending on the talent or lack - overnight - also, the perception of value - IMO,great attitude makes an "8" into a "10" and a "5" into an "8"

I laugh when guys bemoan the lack of Colombianias the last few years in the HDR - I never liked those plastic bitches, with the mercenary attitudes - because I live by the previous paragraph.

(Oh, everyone is entitled to their opinion - the great thing about San Jose - unlike every other place in Costa Rica - are so many choices - lets face it - you don't go there for the food or the architecture!)
